If you create a new tenancy for an exisiting tenant, either at the same property or a different address, any rents they go onto pay still go to their closed tenancy. It would be most helpful if those standing order references were automatically cancelled once a tenancy is closed. I have embarrassed myself too many times chasing tenants for rents they have paid but which have gone to a previous tenancy :(
